SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WRSP) — The Sangamon County Clerk is reminding voters in Illinois to register to vote early this year.
Although Illinois does allow same-day registration, Don Gray says that registering now will save people time when they come in for early voting or on Election Day.
He believes the issues on this year's ballots will drive historic turnout.
"It’s an open presidential seat. There's a lot on the ballot in referenda, constitutional amendments, and local referenda that we believe is gonna drive voter turnout," said Sangamon County Clerk Don Gray.
You can register online or in person at the county clerk's office.
