Springfield city ornament unveiled
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WRSP) —
Wednesday the city of Springfield Christmas ornament was unveiled.
This year the ornament celebrates the 50th anniversary of Lincoln Land Community College.
This is the 25th year in a series of 24 karat gold plated ornaments featuring landmarks and special events in Springfield.
It may be the last year the ornaments are sold, but organizers haven't made the decision yet.
"There's a lot of backgrounds when you come into a day like this when you see the ornament it's beautiful, it's wonderful," said Sister Lenore, highland administrator of St. Joseph's Home. "There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes there's a lot that goes into it I’m not saying yes and I’m not saying no."
Two thousand of the ornaments were made.
And if you're interested you can buy one for $25 at the LLCC bookstore and select Springfield area businesses.
