Springfield officer charged with altercation with teen files complaint against city
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WRSP) —
The former Springfield Police Officer charged for getting into a physical altercation with a 17-year-old has filed a complaint against the city.
Samuel Rosario was arrested for official misconduct and battery after the fight was caught on his body camera.
In a complaint to the Illinois Department of Human Rights, Rosario claims he was discriminated against by the city.
The department says the complaint is still in the preliminary stages and no other information can be released at this time.
The Springfield Police Department declined to comment on the complaint, but they did confirm Rosario is no longer with the department.
