Springfield man indicted on 19 counts Wednesday
Springfield police arrested Eric McClain, 30, of Springfield on April 19.
Officers found McClain with a juvenile female at a hotel in Springfield at the time of the arrest. McClain attempted to flee the scene, as he had an outstanding arrest warrant for obstructing justice.
In addition to the arrest warrant, McClain was charged with obstructing a peace officer, violation of an order of protection, escape and possession of cannabis.
McClain was arrested and transferred to Sangamon County Jail.
The investigation continued following McClain's arrest by Springfield police and the Sangamon County State's Attorney's Office.
On May 23, McClain was indicted on 19 counts, including six counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, six counts of child pornography, three counts of trafficking in persons, two counts of promoting juvenile prostitution, involuntary servitude of a minor and involuntary sexual servitude of a minor.
McClain's bond was set at $500,000.
McClain allegedly produced child pornography with a victim under 18-years-old, recruited and enticed a victim under the age of 16 to engage in commercial sexual activity and arranged for the prostitution of a juvenile.
