Two years of legalized medical marijuana in Illinois
It's been two years since medical marijuana was legalized in Illinois and a Springfield dispensary said it's seeing continued growth.
Right now, HCI Alternatives has over 850 patients.
Last year, the company saw a 16 percent increase and hopes to see the same next year.
CEO Chris Stone said a successful two year anniversary represents not just his thriving business, but the progress patients are experiencing from medical marijuana.
"A lot of people in this industry are surviving and I would say thriving at this point with our business in Springfield and Collinsville,” HCI Alternatives CEO Christ Stone said. “You add up all those things together and you go, 'man we made it two years’."
Stone said HCI Alternatives' goal is to educate more people about medical marijuana and develop new products for varying ailments.
