One class at UIS did some investigative work Wednesday.

A forensic science lab simulated a crime scene in a campus courtyard this afternoon.

Students searched for evidence and looked for clues to help them find suspects throughout the semester.

By the 15th week they’ll finally find out who the perpetrator is in the case.

"They're gathering evidence. They’re sketching, they're taking photos, interviewing witnesses, and things that they collect will appear each week,” said Dav Szavo, UIS chemistry instructor.

Students will evaluate and test everything from hair samples, fingerprints, to footprint molds.
