Glenn VanAvery charged following Jacksonville homicide investigation
SOUTH JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) —
Glenn VanAvery has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder following a homicide investigation in south Jacksonville.
The first-degree murder charge comes after his mother was found stabbed to death at a residence in the 1700 block of S. East St.
The attempted murder charge comes after VanAvery's brother was found seven houses down injured.
He has since been released from the hospital.
Glenn VanAvery was still outside the residence when the police arrived to the scene.
If convicted, VanAvery could face up to life in prison. His bond is set at a $700,000.
VanAvery is expected to have another court date, and the investigation is still ongoing.
