Coroner: Woman found dead in Petersburg identified
PETERSBURG, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — UPDATE:
The Menard County Coroner's Office said the body of the white female found early Thursday has been identified as 43-year-old Lori K. Cody, of Petersburg.
The body was discovered by a passerby who notified the Petersburg Police.
Cody was pronounced deceased at the scene by Menard County Coroner Larry Hollis.
An autopsy was performed and revealed foul play is not suspected.

Petersburg police are investigating after a woman's body was found on Williams Street Thursday morning.
The Petersburg Police Department and Menard County Sheriff's Office were called to the 500 block of West Williams Street for a report of an unconscious person in the roadway.
When officers arrived on scene around 5:21 a.m. they discovered a 43-year-old woman in the roadway. She was later pronounced dead.
Illinois State Police (ISP) Zone 4 Investigations was contacted to investigate. An autopsy has been scheduled.
The investigation is ongoing.
