(WKEF/WRGT) - Thanksgiving is more than a month away, but more than 50 stores have announced they will not be open for business that day.

According to the website, stores including TJ Maxx, Sam's Club, PetSmart, Marshall's, Lowe's and many others say they are closing their doors on turkey day. And the list is expected to get longer, according to the site, 16 more stores haven't announced they'll be closed on Thanksgiving, but are expected to announced soon.

In the past, stores had been opening on Thanksgiving Day and offering shopping deals. It's known as "Grey Thursday," and has caused mixed feelings among shoppers. Many are happy to get deals earlier, but others say retail workers should have the opportunity to be with their loved ones on Thanksgiving.
