Danville High School Hosts It’s 21st Annual Midwest Classic Show Choir


The city of Danville will host a major event from during the first weekend of February: the 21st Annual Midwest Show Choir Classic. The event takes place at Danville High School this Friday and Saturday.

Thousands will make their way to Danville to compete in the Midwest Classic competition.

There will be about 35 performances between the two days.

Organizers say they expect an economic boost for the area with many visitors seeking out the local shops and restaurants.

"A lot of traditions here,” Mark Mercer, DHS Choir Director, said. “But I also think we are making some exciting changes and moving it forward and progressing it in a great way, and the kids here are super talented and a lot of fun."

This year, groups are coming in from Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri to make one of the largest competitions ever.
