Money Cents: Tips to Avoid Identity Theft
Identity theft is the worst! It’s unfortunate, but many of you watching this have either at some have been a victim of identity theft, or you know someone who has been. We have a few tips to help avoid identity theft for the future. First, don’t give out any of your personal information by phone, online or mail if it is unsolicited. Keep all your personal information such as your social security card and birth certificate in a secured place in your home. When creating passwords keep it challenging with multiple letters, numbers and symbols. Be aware and be proactive to keep your information protected. We have friends in town who can help.
