Brad Underwood introduces class of 2018 full of winners eager to become Fighting Illini

Ayo Dosunmu, a 2x State Champion from Morgan Park, was the first player in the class of 2018 to commit to Illinois.

Illinois mens basketball saw five recruits sign letters of intent with the University of Illinois today. That brings the class of 2018 up to six players with one slot still open.

CLASS of 2018

Giorgi Bezhanishvili: A 6-9 forward from Vienna Austria. Underwood praised his passing ability as well as his IQ and ability to run the offense through him.

Andres Feliz: a 6-2 JUCO transfer who has won championships on all levels. Underwood describes him as a terrific passer, great leader, and having an extremely high IQ.

Alan Griffin: a 6-5 guard from Archbishop Stepinac in New York. Griffin won a State Title while being named MVP of the New York AA Federation Tournament of Champions. Underwood says Griffin is an elite shooter with tremendous range on his going and that he is going to have a terrific four years at Illinois.

Tevian Jones: a 6-7 guard who can play any perimeter spot. Underwood says his passing is off the charts. He's got terrific character and has a chance to be an elite defender at 6-7. He's known as a great shooter but can be so much more.

Samba Kane: a 7-0 Center from Florida Prep Academy. Underwood and the Illini have been on him since the fall and he has continued to grow with a very good skill level. He gives Illinois an option in ball screens and getting to the rim.

Ayo Dosunmu: a 6-5 guard from Morgan Park. Dosunmu has won a pair of State Championships. Underwood says Ayo is one of the elite competitors and can't wait to see he and Trent push each other.
