Bath, Michigan (WICD/WRSP) — While the team came up short of first-place honors, Illinois men's golf continued their season dominance this week at the Bath, Michigan regional.
Illinois finished the three-day regional in second place behind the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia finished the event shooting 29 under par, while the Illini finished 21 under par, eight strokes behind first place.
The Illini as a team punched their ticket to the NCAA Championships at the end of May in Scottsdale, Arizona with their performance in the regionals.
Illinois' Adrien Dumont de Chassart finished tied for 2nd place individually shooting 7 under par on the week. His teammate Tommy Kuhl and Matthis Besard would finish the week tied for 8th place, shooting 5 under.
Illinois State placed tied for 10th in the Bath, Michigan regional. They will not advance to the NCAA Championships.
