Illinois softball starts season in search of warm weather and wins

Illinois softball begins its season Friday morning at the Friends of Jaclyn invitational hosted by the University of Central Florida.

Illinois takes on Providence and North Florida to start the slate of five games over the weekend.

Head Coach Tyra Perry enters her third season with Illinois and the team will look to once again qualify for the NCAA Tournament.

Early on, it’s all about getting away from the Illinois winter and starting the season with some wins.
