Melanie Streeper joined Fox Illinois as Lifestyle Host/Anchor in September, 2015 to help launch "Good Day Marketplace" which airs 8:00-9:00 a.m. weekdays.

She got her start in radio and television in her hometown, St. Louis. Her last positions include working as a radio host for 106.5 FM, The Arch. She was also co-host of the lifestyle program, The Best of the STL.

Before this, she was the Traffic Anchor and fill-in Weather Anchor at ABC 10 in San Diego, KGTV. Other experience includes working as an on-air contributor for two years for CNN Headline News, reporting on regional stories (in Missouri & Illinois) for The Nancy Grace show. Melanie was first contacted by the show to report on the Missouri Miracle case involving Ben Ownby, who's disappearance led to the discovery of Ben and missing Missouri teen Shawn Hornbeck. Both boys were found in January 2007.

Melanie has worked in radio for 21 years, getting her start in St. Louis at the kid's station, WFUN. She's worked in television for around 18 years, first starting off as a General Assignment Reporter with KPLR 11. She then transitioned into working as a Weather Anchor for the next five years. This includes weather at KPLR, KTVI and KMOVall in St. Louis. She's also handled freelance weather for WDSU in New Orleans and helped out with weather for the first Mardi Gras following hurricane Katrina in 2005. In addition to WDSU, she also freelanced with KOLD in Tucson.

Melanie is a proud recipient of a NATOA Award for hosting the lifestyle program, Montage. She has also received a Telly Award for co-hosting City Corner A.M. with Mel and Dave. Both programs were produced in St. Louis.

Her education includes a Master's Degree in Communications with a Promotions emphasis, earned from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. When she's not working, she serves as a volunteer with the animal shelter, American Eskimo Rescue of St. Louis, and is the editor for their Twitter page.

Melanie is the proud Mom of a son who's heading off to graduate school in 2016. She also likes to spend time with her aunt who's a longtime resident of Girard, IL. In her spare time, she enjoys taking her rescue dog, Peyton, to Washington Park.
