Sarah Converse

Sarah Converse was born in Plantation, Florida. This is where she grew her love for weather. As a South Floridian, hurricane season is one of the most important times of the year. In October 2005, Hurricane Wilma tore through Broward County and the eye of the hurricane went over her house. The fear and excitement of experiencing a history making and record-breaking storm blossomed to a passion for meteorology. Sarah knew at the age of 7 that she wanted to become a broadcast meteorologist. After high school, Sarah went to school at Florida State University for her BS in Meteorology.

Sarah got on-air experience through the school’s student-run show called FSU Weather. Even in Tallahassee, she forecasted and experienced Hurricane Hermine, Hurricane Irma, and Hurricane Michael. As you can see, Sarah loves hurricanes.

Sarah also loves listening to music from Pop to 80s Classical Rock (Foreigner is my favorite band). I enjoy going hunting and fishing.

Sarah is excited to experience Mid-West weather. Her goal as a meteorologist is to make weather fun for the viewer on calm days and to keep the viewer safe and prepared through severe weather events. Sarah can’t wait to meet the people of Springfield and to be a part of the community.
